Everest region is the most popular trekking area in Nepal. This region is famous not only for its world’s highest mountain, but also for its cultural attractions, friendliness of people, local villages and immense panoramas.

This Jiri to Everest base camp trek, if you want to follow the  historic and culturally fascinating route followed by the Everest Expedition  of the 50’s and 60’s no other trek than jiri to Everest base camp. Also This Jiri to Everest base camp  trek itinerary  has been designed in discussion with really experienced mountaineers and trekking guides providing enough time for proper acclimatization.During Jiri to  Everest base camp trekking , we also pas through the alpine forest , rivers, and enjoy the beautiful warm hospitality of ethnic people along trekking. But still Jiri to Everest base camp  trekking is an really adventure trek for those trekkers who are physically fitness with good health, enough holiday time and are purposefull to challenge themselves with unpredictability of mountain life.


Our tour leader will be at the airport with our company’s logo. Once you will met the leader you will be warmly welcomed and will be transferred via chartered vehicle to the hotel in Kathmandu which will require approx. half an hour’s drive through roads and intricate streets. And after check-in at the hotel and refreshing, you will be briefed regarding your hotel, its surrounding areas and your trek itself.Included accommodation: Guest house.

The Swiss Association for Technical Assistance(SATA) build the road as part of the Integrated Hill Development Project,a large programme of agricultural development in this region.Dramatic scenes of natural beauty,village scenery and cultural charm you can absorb along this 188km road.Jiri is a small beautiful hill town where the road ends at a cluster of hotels near the Swiss dairy and agricultural project.The people of Jiri and the sourrounding area are Jirelas,that’s why the name of this place came Jiri. Now first part of the journey starts from Jiri main street and uphill entered into the forest ,field,pastureland and reaches top of the hill called Mali Danda(2400m).A sparsely populated Sherpa settlement around this area and scenery from this hill are remarkable.The trail from Mali Danda descends alongside stream,crossing it and emerges the main valley where the suspension bridge leads to Shivalaya.There are several tea houses in this town.Now new road start to stretching from Jiri around these areas.Included accommodation: Tea house.

From Shivalaya the route crosses a stream and passes some houses,then starts a steep ascent to the Deurali where you can enjoy the view with drinks and food.From Deurali,the trail descends till the Bhandar.The village and natural beauty sourrounding the Bhandar are remarkable.Included accommodation: Tea house.

From Bhandar the easy scenic trail leads you to the Kinja for lunch and starts steep ascent till the Sete.Along this trail you may see grey Langur monkeys in the forest.Included accommodation: Tea house.

From Sete gradual uphill path leads you to the Lamjura pass(3530m)through the moist mountain forest,with huge, gnarled,moss covered rhododendron,magnolia,maple and birch trees. Lamjura itself beautiful pass with the scenic view and this is the highest point on the trek between Jiri and Namche Bazar.From Lamjura the trail gentle descends and enters beautiful Sherpa village called Junbesi through fragrant fir and hemlock forest.      Junbesi Village : Junbesi village itself open Sherpa museum with magnificent village scenery and Sherpa customs and traditions.A visit in sourrounding the Junbesi also highly recommended. To the north of Junbesi, about two hours away, is the village of PHUGMOCHHE(3100M),where there is a Traditional Sherpa Art Centre.
Thubten Chhuling,a huge Tibetan Buddhist monastery about 3hrs away is well worth to visit.The main Gomba is huge and impressive and often has more than 450 monks chanting both inside and outside.The monastery expects an offering from any visitor,whether foreign or Sherpa.There are small huts all over the hill for the residences of monks and nuns.The monastery was founded by Tushi Rinmpoche in late 1960s,who travelled to Nepal with many monks from Rongbuk Monastery in Tibet.Included accommodation: Tea house.

After crossing the Junbesi Khola trail leads uphill to the viewpoint from where you can see the first view of Everest(8848m),Chamlang(7313m),and Makalu(8464m).After the view trail goes descend and ascend,again to Nunthala.On the way you can visit cheese factory at Ringmo village,monastery of Takshindo village. From Nunthala descent trail leads you to the suspension bridge of Dudh Kosi River and uphill trail through the field of barley,wheat and corn then appears Jubing and comes Khari Khola.                        Included accommodation: Tea house.

From Khari Khola trail descends towards the stream and after crossing it on a suspension bridge,then makes the final climb to Puiyan through Bupsa village.Included accommodation: Tea house.

After climbing an hour the trail descends to Surke and gentle path leads you to the Phakding through a Chaunri Kharka village.On the way you can see Lukla Airstrip with the village of sourrounding areas.             Included accommodation: Tea house.

At morning our trail goes through a beautiful pine forest, we pass many suspension bridge above Dudhkoshi river, with the magnificent view of Mt. Thamserku(6608m) from benker village. After crossing the settlement of Benker, Chumoa, Monjo, we arrive at the check post of Sagarmatha National Park, where your trekking permit is checked along with all record of trekker and guide. Then our trek descends to Jorsalle village before reaching Namche Bazar. After passing the jorsale village our trail ascent to Namche Bazar.  Included accommodation: Tea house.

Namche Bazar is a focal point for Khumbu region and has a police check post, the headquarters for Sagarmatha National Park, a bank, money changers and several shops. There are bakeries, bookstores and pubs also.There are a lot of trekking equipment available to buy or for rent in Namche. So if you are not well equipt,this the last place with these facilities.
After breakfast our trail climbs up towards Tangboche. We pass the dense rhododendron forest where you can opportunity to se musk deer. Finally we reached at Tengboche by passing though Phunkitenga. Here we get opportunity to visit largest Buddhist monastery of Khumbu region. Overnight stay at lodge. Here we get opportunity to see Panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Kwngde 96187m), Tawache (6542m), Nuptse(7855m) Lhotse (8618m), Amadablam (6856m) thanserku(6608m) and other snow capped mountain. Included accommodation: Tea house.

Our trail starts with descend through a rhododendron , fir, junior forest and Debote Village which offers magnificent views of Everest region then our trail ascent up towards Pangboche Village. Here you get medical facility and some health guide about altitude sickness. Included accommodation: Tea house.

This is another acclimatization day for rest on high altitude. Today you can do short hike up to Ama Dublam Base camp, from Ama Dublam Base camp you can see panoramic views of mountaints.Included accommodation: Tea house.

Today our trail moves up towards Lobuche. We cross the Phalangkarpo(4340m) and Duglha (4620m) during our trail. From Dughla our trek climb up the steep terminal moraine of the Khumbu glacier. We found our way through the boulder -strewn slope as we ascent Chupki Lhara, which offers Dynamic mountain views. It is a trip point where we can see many flags used as memory of mountaineer. As the trail descends to the Khumbu Glacier moraine, we get chance to face to face with many highest peaks. Walking along the Khumbu Glacier, finally we reached at Lobuche, Overnight stay at Lodges. This an early morning you got a wake to off to Everest base camp even this your final day you are going to reach top of world’s highest base camp so, our trail Goes along with moraine of the Khumbu Glacier with the view of Mt. Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtern, Khumbutse, Nuptse, and you reached Gorakship when you get there have early lunch again! After lunch we are going to make base camp it’s take approx 3 hrs, and you’ll reached base camp, wow! This your day even whole your Everest Base trekking about. you spend time as you like! Then we come back to Gorkship again!Included accommodation: Tea house.

Another an early morning provides time to go up to Kala Pather, the best view point of Mt. Everest with 180 degree panoramic views of the mountains. It takes approx. 2 hrs to get to this summit. After enjoying the closest view of Mt. Everest, we come down to Gorakshep on the way back to Pheriche/ Orsho.Included accommodation: Tea house.

Today is the last day of our trek. After breakfast our trail descends toward Lukla through beautiful landscapes of Sherpa villages, forests, mountains and hills. We cross Monjo and Phakding along the Dudh Koshi river to reach Lukla. In the evening we’ll have a nice dinner together with all of our team members. Overnight stay at hotel.        Included accommodation: Tea house.

After breakfast we fly back to Kathmandu, and then transfer to hotel. The rest of day can be spent at your leisure. Overnight stay at hotel. Included accommodation: Guest house.

Tips for Trip
