Tour overview

This trek is a good option for both nature lovers and the adventurer.The Langtang valley trek is one of the most popular trekking routes in the Langtang region; the Langtang valley is called “the valley of glaciers.”This trek offers spectacular views of Mount Langtang with other snow capped mountains, pine forest, slow moving rivers, and swift mountain streams, rugged rocks down the meadows strewn with daisies and wild animals. There are snow bridges spanning angry torrents and high passes enveloped in mist form tiny Lake Icebergs that floats. You have an opportunity to absorb high and isolated regions inhabited by Tamangs and their religious practices. Their language and dress code are similar to that of the Tibetan people.The trek starts with an 7-8 hour drive to Syabru Besi from Kathmandu. From Syabru Besi we follow the Langtang River to the east until we get to Kyangin Gompa. Initially we trek through a sub-tropical jungle then a dense forest of oak, birch and pine before the valley opens out into alpine meadows and yak pasture. We have an opportunity to see monkeys and rhododendron forests during our trail. At Kyangjin we visit a small gompa and cheese factory and enjoy spectacular 360 degrees of panoramic snow capped mountains including the awesome Langtang Lirung, Pemthang Ri, Langshisha Ri, Dorje Lakpa, and Kangchenpo and Tilman’s fluted peak. 

DETAIL ITENIRARY

Our tour leader will meet you at the airport with our company logo and you will be transferred to your accommodation. The journey from the airport takes approximately 30 minutes. You will be briefed on your accommodation, its surrounding areas and your wonderful trek.

After breakfast we embark on a city sightseeing of Baudhanath & Pashupatinath. Overnight at a guest house.
We have an 8 hour scenic derive to Syabru Besi. During our trek we see many small villages, terrace fields and magnificent landscapes. Syabru Besi is a beautiful village of the Tamang people. Overnight stay at hotel.
It is the first day of our trek and we start by ascending through dense forest of oak, rhododendron and bamboo as we follow the Langtang river, passing beautiful villages, teahouses and small waterfalls. We encounter monkeys, birds and wildlife on our trail. We arrive at the Lama hotel. Overnight stay at lodge. It takes 5 hours to reach the Lama hotel.
After breakfast our trail head to our next destination i.e. Langtang valley via Ghodatabela. The trail ascent to Ghodatabela through a winding path of a steep forest. We get glimpse of Langtang Lirung with many different wildlife and birds. Further ascending we pass yak pastures, a monastery and we reached at Langtang village. It is the capital of Langtang National Park. This Tibetan style village is surrounded by stone walls enclosed with fields of buckwheat, potatoes, wheat, turnips and barley. Our journey takes 5-6 hours to reach Langtang. Overnight stay at lodge.
Our trail ascent through tiny villages, stone build homes and yak pastures. A further ascent through small streams and moraines. We reach the settlement at Kyangin. It takes 4-5 hours to arrive at Kyangin Gompa. The valley is beautiful with scenery of Langtang Lirung and other snow capped mountains. It is famous for yak cheese and curd and for the panoramic views of Langtang Ri (6370 m), Langtang Lirung (7245 m) and Dorje larpa (6990m). Overnight at lodge.
Today we explore the area of Kyanjin. After breakfast we have a short ascent to Tsergo Ri (4884 m) for a view of the magnificent landscape and spectacular 360 degree mountain range views which includes the Langtang range and the Lirung glacier. We also visit a Monastery and a cheese factory. Overnight at lodge.
After breakfast we retrace our route and descend to the Lama hotel. It takes 5-6 hour to reach our destination. As we follow the Langtang river we pass through a Langtang village and Ghoratabela. Again we have an opportunity to view spectacular views of the mountains along with different wildlife and birds. Overnight stay at lodge.
Today our trail descends to Syabru Bensi and we pass through many Sherpa and Tamang villages and dense forest. It takes 5-6 hours to reach Syabru Besi. Our trek concludes here. Overnight stay at lodge.
After breakfast we drive back to Kathmandu. Check in at your accommodation and you have time for relaxation.
After breakfast we embark on a half day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Shyambhunath. The rest of day you have at your disposal. An evening dinner at local restaurant to say farewell. Overnight stay at a guest house.
You will be transferred to the airport according to your flight schedule.

1 sleeping bag- down-filling to zero cent or lower depending on trip altitude

1 day pack: +/- 10 litters

1Down jacket or all –weather Anorak-long(not short) with hood

1 Warm wooly hat

Gloves- quality and warmth subject to altitude and season

Sun-glasses-essential above snow –line

Sun-block/ Sun –Screen lotion(30-50 SPF) –essential for light-skinned people

1 Fleece or warm sweater

1 Sweat –shirt/light sweater

Towel-cotton, medium

Torch/flash-light-with additional batteries

Shirts- long-sleeved, cotton and/ or thermal  Tshirts

Trousers-2 pairs( warm or light –weight depending on trek altitude)
