This trek is a good option for both nature lovers and the adventurer. The Langtang valley trek is one of the most popular trekking routes in the Langtang region; the Langtang valley is called “the valley of glaciers.”This trek offers spectacular views of Mount Langtang with other snow capped mountains, pine forest, slow moving rivers, and swift mountain streams, rugged rocks down the meadows strewn with daisies and wild animals. There are snow bridges spanning angry torrents and high passes enveloped in mist form tiny Lake Icebergs that floats. You have an opportunity to absorb high and isolated regions inhabited by Tamangs and their religious practices. Their language and dress code are similar to that of the Tibetan people. The trek starts with an 7-8 hour drive to Syabru Besi from Kathmandu. From Syabru Besi we follow the Langtang River to the east until we get to Kyangin Gompa. Initially we trek through a sub-tropical jungle then a dense forest of oak, birch and pine before the valley opens out into alpine meadows and yak pasture. We have an opportunity to see monkeys and rhododendron forests during our trail. At Kyangjin we visit a small gompa and cheese factory and enjoy spectacular 360 degrees of panoramic snow capped mountains including the awesome Langtang Lirung, Pemthang Ri, Langshisha Ri, Dorje Lakpa, and Kangchenpo and Tilman’s fluted peak.
